Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) recently released its 2021 report ranking state animal protection laws, and raised Ohio’s ranking from 30th in 2020 to 24th in 2021!

ALDF recognized Ohio for its leadership in the passage of a comprehensive “cross-reporting” law to require the reporting of suspected child or elder abuse and cruelty to a companion animal, such as a dog or cat, by social workers, veterinarians and other professionals.
