Puppy mill dogs in Ohio may soon get new protections from breeders performing painful surgical procedures on them, such as tail docking. On 9/21/22, OAA held a statehouse press event to honor Representative Laura Lanese with OAA’s 2022 Legislator of the Year Award for her steadfast commitment to improving the lives of animals in Ohio, and for the introduction of legislation that will prohibit breeders from doing surgical procedures on dogs without pain meds, anesthesia, or a veterinarian present.
