New State legislation alert!
Arizona & Illinois have passed new legislation prohibiting breed discrimination consideration for homeowner’s or renter’s insurance.
Many major insurers’ filings specifically state that coverage won’t be provided to households where certain breeds of dogs live. And they won’t renew a policy if the presence of a “vicious dog” is discovered in the home.
It’s wrong for home insurance companies to discriminate against dogs due to breed. We applaud Arizona and Illinois for their leadership to end this discrimination towards innocent breeds.
