Pass the Federal Greyhound Protection Act
OAA PROGRAM AREA: COMMUNITY COMPASSION
ACTION LEVEL: FEDERAL

Public records reveal that greyhounds used for live commercial racing suffer serious injuries including broken backs, broken necks, head trauma, paralysis, seizures and electrocution. Research has revealed that many dogs are drugged and also live-lure trained with rabbits in a misguided effort to fix races. It is time to prohibit the cruelty of dog racing in the United States.
The Greyhound Protection Act, H.R. 3335, will ban greyhound racing in the United States, and end the cruelty to both greyhounds and the rabbits used as live-lures.
