Joanna Reen
Joanna is currently the Executive Director and primary medical/surgical provider for Licking County TNR, and is an associate veterinarian with Alexandria Animal Hospital. She has previously practiced with several veterinary practices in the central Ohio area such as Shelter Outreach Services, Refugee Canyon Veterinary Services, Licking County Humane Society, and Granville Veterinary Clinic as both a medical and surgical provider. Joanna has partnered with OAA over the last several years on TNR efforts for trailer park communities in the central Ohio area.
Joanna received both her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and B.S. in Pre-Veterinary Studies from Purdue University. She had post-graduate externships at the Milwaukee Zoo in Wisconsin, the Care and Rehabilitation of Wildlife center on Sanibel Island in Florida, and at the Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital in Los Angeles, California. She was OAA’s vet advisor and volunteered with Community Cat Advocate, CASA in Franklin County and her local 4-H Club. Joanna has always loved animals and her house is a revolving hotel for stray animals in need that find her and thrive through her compassion.
