Julie Mills

Julie’s Dog, Bill Mills

Julie Mills, Esq. (At-Large) – Julie is an estate, special needs planning, and nonprofit attorney in northeast and central Ohio. She regularly assists rescues and shelters in legal matters ranging from charity formation to adoption and foster contract matters. Julie is also the co-founder of a pet food pantry in Northeast Ohio that serves low-income residents, disabled veterans, elderly and disabled residents, as well as residents of domestic violence and homeless shelters. Julie was one of the first Ohio attorneys to be published on Ohio’s then-new Ohio Trust Code that, for the first time, permitted pet trusts. Pet estate planning, whether for a stable of horses, a parrot that can outlive its owner, a dog, or any pet, is a mainstay of Julie’s law practice, in an effort to avoid pets being surrendered to shelters when their owner dies.

Julie received her law degree from Indiana University, and lives with her husband, daughter, two cats, two dogs, and her daughter’s two guinea pigs.
