Partner Profile: Pawsitive Ohio

OAA is proud to feature the second in our series of Partner Profiles. Pawsitive Ohio was founded in 2013 and is a Network Partner of Best Friends Animal Society.

Pawsitive Ohio Mission:  To end the needless deaths of homeless dogs in Northeast Ohio so no dog has to die in a shelter simply for being unwanted.  Pawsitive Ohio focuses on raising funds for low-cost spay/neuter programs and comprehensive adoption programs as well as creating a coalition among Northeast Ohio rescue groups. Pawsitive Ohio also provides education on adoption, breed discrimination, and the benefits of altering pets to reduce the pet population.

Pawsitive PitCrew: This program was started to counteract misinformation about pit bulls and bully-breeds. As part of the program, Pawsitive Ohio hosts low-cost spay/neuter clinics for bully-breeds/mixes where the owners pay only a $20 copayment for spaying/neutering, vaccines, and microchipping. Since program inception, over 300 dogs have benefitted.

Multi-Rescue Adoption Event: An annual event every summer, Pawsitive Ohio hosts approximately 20 area rescue groups and shelters at no cost.

Service area: Pawsitive Ohio serves Stark County and works throughout Northeast Ohio.
