Update: Loudonville Breeding Facility Faces Additional Charges, Including Sexual Conduct With an Animal

Daniel A. Miller, the Loudonville-area commercial dog breeder previously charged following the removal of 72 dogs and puppies from his property, now faces 10 additional charges, including a charge involving alleged sexual conduct with an animal.

According to criminal complaints filed September 8 in Ashland Municipal Court, Miller is accused of knowingly engaging in sexual conduct with an animal or knowingly possessing, selling, or purchasing an animal with the intent that the animal be subjected to sexual conduct. The complaint identifies a dog named Hiro in connection with the charge. The filing does not specify which of the prohibited acts prosecutors allege occurred.

The charge was filed under Ohio Revised Code 959.21(B), Ohio’s law prohibiting sexual conduct with an animal, and is currently classified as a second-degree misdemeanor.

Miller also faces additional animal cruelty charges involving several dogs removed from the property, as well as a charge of possessing criminal tools. Combined with the two charges filed following his August 27 arrest, Miller now faces 12 pending misdemeanor charges.

The charges are allegations and do not establish guilt. Miller is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
