Come join us for one of Sunrise's biggest fundraisers. Thanksgiving for the Turkeys allows us to celebrate Turkeys. At Sunrise, folks work to help keep Turkeys off the plates this Thanksgiving and allow them a place to live the rest of their natural lives in peace.
Thanksgiving FOR the Turkeys event is Sunrise’s largest fundraiser of the year. They save turkeys from being on a plate and allow them to live the rest of their natural lives in peace and love here at the Sanctuary. In addition to celebrating these magnificent beings, this event helps them to raise money to pay their feed bill for the winter. This is our 18th anniversary of holding this event. Every year, they are thrilled to welcome old friends back and new ones to the family.
They charge admission to this event to raise money for the Sanctuary, but instead of a fixed amount, they are letting you choose the admission price that is right for you by buying a virtual item the animals need and you will have the option to make an additional donation either online or at the event. For example:
A donation of $49 represents 1 bag of Waterfowl Food
$22.50 represents 1 bag of Pig Food
$14.50 represents 1 bag of Sheep Food
Children tickets are available for a fixed price of $10 for children ages 4-17 and children 3 and under are free. One ticket is required per person, and tickets are non-refundable.
This event is full of amazing vegan food and animal-themed activities. All tickets include a tasty vegan meal, plus one non-alcoholic beverage. We will share menu details as it gets closer! We will also have the return of our yummy Sweets & Treats bake sale, with vegan offerings from various local bakeries, including DIY Cookie Party, 108 Delectable Delights, WallFlour Bakery, and Community Grounds!
After you tour the grounds, meet their beloved animals, take pictures, and ask questions, you can eat, participate in the Raffle (with prizes including original artwork, a handknit blanket, and a gift basket from Pattycake Bakery), buy new merchandise and browse the craft table. There will also be an activity book for kids (of all ages as we never discriminate) with a Sunrise Animal sticker for completion.
Plus, thanks to a generous donor, the first 125 visitors will receive a custom wooden turkey ornament to commemorate the event!
