Ohio Animal Advocates Publishes Position Statements on 12 Key Animal Welfare Issues

By Kendall Jang, Staff Writer

Ohio Animal Advocates (OAA) is pleased to announce the publication of 12 official position statements addressing key animal welfare issues. These resources are now available to the public through the Media page on our website. Developed to clearly communicate where OAA stands on important issues affecting animals, these statements provide a foundation for informed advocacy, public education, and policy discussions throughout Ohio and beyond.

Why We Developed These Position Statements

Animal welfare issues are often complex, involving legislation, scientific research, public policy, and community perspectives. As an organization dedicated to protecting animals, OAA recognizes the importance of communicating our positions clearly and consistently. We developed these statements to:

  • Establish clear positions: Define OAA's stance on important animal welfare issues and the principles guiding our advocacy efforts.

  • Support informed advocacy: Equip advocates, community members, and partner organizations with resources to better understand and discuss animal welfare concerns.

  • Inform public policy: Provide policymakers and legislators with insight into OAA's perspectives on issues affecting animals.

  • Serve as a media resource: Help journalists and media professionals accurately represent OAA's positions when reporting on animal welfare topics.

  • Promote education and awareness: Encourage meaningful conversations and greater public understanding of the challenges animals face.

By making these statements publicly accessible, we aim to strengthen transparency, encourage collaboration, and help advance meaningful protections for animals.
