Cincinnati Researcher Awarded Grant to Create Human-Based Model to Study Neurodegenerative Diseases
An Ohio researcher was awarded a 2025 ARDF animal-free biomedical research grant for work in the field of neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Jason Tchieu at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital is working to create a human pluripotent stem cell-derived model of the olfactory epithelium and olfactory sensory neurons.
ASPCA Announces Up to $14 Million in Grants for Shelters and Spay/Neuter Clinics
The ASPCA has announced that it will award up to $14 million in grants to support shelters and spay/neuter clinics serving vulnerable animals throughout the United States. The funding is intended to help organizations address some of the most pressing challenges facing animal welfare today, including shelter capacity needs and the ongoing shortage of accessible spay/neuter services.
Ohio Animal Foundation 2026 Grant Cycle Open until June 1st
The 2026 grant cycle at Ohio Animal Foundation kicked off on May 1st. They are accepting applications for their small grant program throughout the month of May. The typical grant range is $250-$500. Ohio-based nonprofit organizations with programs benefitting companion animals and/or Ohio wildlife are encouraged to apply. Note that applications requesting a general donation are not accepted.
